TAIWAN EXPO Europe

The first-ever Taiwan Expo held in Europe. The exhibition in Berlin, Germany focused on the EU's green and digital development. A total of 110 exhibitors showcased products and services in smart living, smart transportation, smart healthcare, eco-friendly circularity, Taiwanese cuisine and cultural creativity, generating business opportunities worth USD 28.41 million.

A "Taiwan-EU Semiconductor Forum" was also held during the event, featuring high-profile speakers from TSMC, Merck, MediaTek, Infineon, and Realtek.

U.S. Business Day & Taiwan-U.S. Supply Chain Partnership Forum

Delegations from the U.S. states of Arizona, Montana, Oklahoma, and South Carolina, including government representatives and buyers, visited Taiwan to explore business opportunities. Meetings between U.S. and Taiwanese companies generated USD 13.22 million in potential deals. The forum also featured industry experts discussing applications and solutions in generative AI.

Taiwan-Japan Business Day

A record-high 44 Japanese buyers were invited to Taiwan for procurement meetings with 205 Taiwanese businesses to source ICT and electronic components, hardware and fasteners, lifestyle products, and food, generating USD 150 million in business opportunities.

Consumer Products Trade Delegation to Japan

A delegation of 75 Taiwanese companies traveled to Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka for business meetings with 1,300 Japanese buyers. The event generated USD 109 million in business opportunities, marking a 19% increase from the previous year.

New Southbound Market

TAIWAN EXPO

Focusing on the booming economies of Indonesia, India, and Thailand, the Taiwan Expos showcased 420 Taiwanese businesses, drew 45,340 attendees, and unlocked USD 260 million in trade opportunities. The Taiwan Expo in India stood out, clinching a historic USD 100 million in deals, with over 340 media coverage amplifying Taiwan-India ties.

Taiwan Petrochemical Delegation

In response to China's suspension of ECFA tariff reductions on petrochemical products, TAITRA organized a trade delegation to Mumbai, India. The event attracted 214 buyers from 101 companies, including Reliance Group and film manufacturer Jindal Films, resulting in 217 business meetings and generating USD 17.48 million in business opportunities.

Leading a delegation of 29 companies to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; and Bangkok, Thailand. The delegation engaged in 692 matchmaking meetings with 377 buyers, generating USD 40.43 million in business opportunities.

Taiwan Trade Mission to Indonesia, Philippines and Myanmar

The trade delegation of 17 Taiwanese companies, representing industries such as ICT, medical devices, automotive parts, electrical and electronic products, EV charging stations, and consumer goods, visited Jakarta, Indonesia; Manila, Philippines; and Yangon, Myanmar, and engaged in procurement meetings with 178 buyers, generating USD 14.21 million in business opportunities.

Emerging Market

TAITRA actively leads Taiwanese companies in expanding into emerging markets such as Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, helping Taiwanese businesses broaden their international reach and promoting bilateral trade and investment opportunities.

Trade Delegation to Central and Eastern Europe

A delegation of 22 Taiwanese companies was organized to promote trade in Hungary (Budapest), Poland (Warsaw), Romania (Bucharest), and Bulgaria (Sofia). The delegation engaged in 580 meetings with 232 buyers, generating USD 17.35 million in business opportunities.

Taiwan Flagship Delegation to Africa

In collaboration with Toyota Tsusho, a Japanese trading company with a strong presence in Africa, four Taiwanese petrochemical and rubber machinery companies visited Egypt, Kenya, and Nigeria. The buyers included El Sewedy (Egypt), Sameer Group (Kenya), and Dangote Group (Nigeria), with a total of 162 companies. This led to USD 32.46 million in business opportunities.

Taiwan Trade Mission to Northeastern Africa

A delegation of eleven Taiwanese companies was organized to promote trade in Egypt, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Somaliland, where meetings with 362 buyers were held, generating USD 15.9 million in business opportunities.

Taiwan Trade Mission to North Africa & Western Sahara

A delegation of nine Taiwanese companies visited Nigeria, Algeria, Ivory Coast, and Ghana, where they held meetings with 447 buyers, generating USD 11.15 million in business opportunities. The "Nigeria Taiwan Month" was also held, attracting 109 Nigerian buyers.

Taiwan Trade Mission to Sub-Saharan Africa

A delegation of twelve Taiwanese companies visited Kenya, Tanzania, Eswatini, and, for the first time, Madagascar. They engaged with 297 buyers, including Kenya's auto parts importer IMPARA and Tanzania's largest truck assembly company MELT Group, generating USD 10.34 million in business opportunities.

TAITRA Index

The TAITRA Index, a key tool for gaining insights into global market trends, was launched. Based on the TAITRA Trade Survey and the Corporate Response to Geopolitical Trends Survey, it covers topics such as geopolitics, AI, digital marketing, and ESG. A total of 2,500 valid responses were collected, with the findings published on TAITRA’s official website.

In response to China’s suspension of tariff benefits for 134 Taiwanese products on June 15, 2024, a proactive 0800-695-989 hotline was set up. The hotline contacted 1,479 potentially affected companies in the petrochemical, machinery, textile, and auto parts industries, and helped 105 businesses diversify their markets.
